The Center for Advanced Study of Algorithms (CASA)

CASA is a center with a focus on Information Technology, for both theoretical and applied research, including such diverse areas as

online algorithms
combinatorial optimization
approximation techniques
adaptive methods

Center for Cybermedia Research (CCR)

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Center is to perform world-class theoretical and experimental research in Cybermedia, and to engage in innovation transfer to its stakeholders and affiliates in the University, private and public sectors.

CCR was approved by the UCCSN Board of Regents. It has been in operation since 2000.

The Identity Theft and Financial Fraud Research and Operations Center (ITFFROC)

Mission Statement:
ITFFROC is dedicated to the development of software tools and computing technology for both public and private sector that will facilitate the detection, prosecution, and prevention of identity theft and financial fraud.

ITFFROC is a joint research effort of UNLV and LVMPD. It was started in 2003.

The Information Science Research Institute (ISRI)

Mission Statement:
ISRI's mission is to foster the improvement of automated technologies for document understanding. ISRI has focused its attention on technologies for recognition and retrieval of information from machine-printed documents.
