Welcome to the UNLV School of Computer Science!

Would you like to get paid for doing something your love? A career in computer science can lead you in many exciting and interesting directions. Computers are used by virtually every business, organization, and governmental entity. Whether you want to design cool, cutting edge websites and video games, explore the field of computer forensics and security, or manage a database system, the variety of jobs and opportunities is limited only by your imagination!

The NACE Job Outlook 2005 Survey ranked Computer Science as #6 in a list of the Top Ten degrees in demand and the NACE Fall 2004 Salary Survey placed Computer Science average starting salaries near the top of the list.

Here at the School of Computer Science we offer an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree that will make you proficient in all the fundamental areas and techniques of computer science. The Bachelor of Science degree will prepare you for a rewarding career in business or industry, as well as, providing a firm basis for graduate study.

The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science degree is designed for those students who want to learn and understand the essential elements of computer science in order to apply this knowledge to an application area such as biology, mathematics, history, etc.

As a student in the School of Computer Science we expect you to bring an inquiring mind and a strong work ethic to your studies. Our faculty and staff will do all that we can to make your academic career successful and productive.
