Welcome to the website for the UNLV School of Computer Science. We live in a
world of rapid technological change, and computer science forms the foundation
for the information systems and communication networks on which that change
relies.
We offer both the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees at the
undergraduate level. Either of these academic programs will prepare you
for an exciting, challenging, and ultimately rewarding career. Recent
surveys have shown that computer science is in the top ten degrees most
in demand by employers, and that the average starting salary for computer
science graduates is in the top five.
For students wishing to pursue graduate studies, we offer both the Master of
Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in computer science. Our graduate
faculty provides students with the theoretical and practical educational
opportunities that will allow them to pursue original and meaningful research
in application areas such as computer graphics, databases, networks, artificial
intelligence, information retrieval, computer security, programming languages,
and operating systems.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to creating an atmosphere that will
allow all our students to excel and realize their full potential. We hope
